Write for Us
FlyJanuary.org welcomes pitches from writers with something genuinely useful to say about money, everyday life, wellbeing, travel or the ideas behind them. Here is what we look for and how to pitch.
Last updated:
What we publish
- Personal Finance — Budgets, saving, debt and investing basics — explained plainly, with worked numbers.
- Lifestyle — Habits, routines, home and food — small changes that make ordinary days run better.
- Health & Wellness — Sleep, movement and mood — sensible, evidence-aware guidance without the hype.
- Travel — Where to go, when to book and how to spend less on the trips that matter.
- General Interest — History, books, culture and the curious stories behind everyday things.
What makes a good pitch
- Original and unpublished. Written for us, not published anywhere else, and not produced wholesale by AI.
- Practical. A reader should be able to do something differently after reading it — with steps, examples or numbers.
- Accurate. Facts are sourced, figures are checked, and finance or health topics stay within general information.
- Specific. "How to cut your food shop by a third without meal-planning apps" beats "10 ways to save money".
- 1,000–2,000 words in British English, written for an international audience.
What we do not accept
- Articles written mainly to place links, or with undisclosed commercial links.
- Gambling, crypto speculation, payday lending, adult content or get-rich-quick schemes.
- Medical claims, miracle diets or anything that could put a reader at risk.
- Content copied, spun or lightly rewritten from other websites.
How to pitch
- Read a few of our recent articles to get a feel for our style.
- Email hello@flyjanuaryorg.com with the subject line "Pitch: your working title".
- Include a 3–5 line summary, a rough outline, why you are the right person to write it, and two links to your previous writing.
- We reply to every pitch we would like to take forward, usually within ten working days.
