Fares and prices

Any price shown on this site — including every "from" fare in our destination guide and on the January flight deals page — is an indicative example based on fares we have observed on recent January departures. It is not a quotation, not an offer, and not a guarantee of availability.

Airfares vary continuously with:

• Your departure airport and exact dates
• How far ahead you book, and how much inventory remains in each fare class
• Cabin, baggage allowance and ticket flexibility
• Currency movements, fuel costs and taxes

The only reliable price is a live quotation for your actual itinerary. Ask us for one.

Climate and weather figures

Temperatures shown on this site are typical January monthly averages, drawn from long-run climate norms. They describe what a month is usually like. They are not forecasts and they say nothing about the fortnight you have booked.

An average January high of 21°C in Tenerife is entirely compatible with a wet, windy week. Always check a live forecast close to departure — for UK departures the Met Office is a good starting point — and pack for the range, not the average.

Entry requirements, visas and passports

Entry rules change, sometimes at very short notice, and they differ by nationality, by route and by the purpose of your visit. Anything we publish about passport validity, visas, transit rules or border systems reflects our understanding at the time of writing and may have changed since.

You are responsible for meeting the entry requirements for your trip. Verify your own position against official sources:

• IATA Travel Centre
• The EU's official travel information site
• The embassy or consulate of the country you are visiting

Not professional advice

• Financial or insurance advice. We are travel specialists, not regulated financial advisers or insurance intermediaries. Our travel insurance article explains what to look for; it does not recommend a product.
• Legal advice. Our summaries of passenger rights are a plain-English guide. The authoritative source is the Civil Aviation Authority.
• Medical advice. For vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis and fitness to fly, consult your GP or a travel health clinic. We are not qualified to advise.
• Immigration advice. For anything beyond ordinary tourist entry, consult a qualified immigration adviser.
